Predefined pack sizes and select individual seedlings to make up that pack. Possible?

Let me show you our current website. https://www.livingtowerseedlings.com. We sell and ship seedlings in predefined pack sizes (10, 18, 20, 26 or 28). Customers can pick any combination of the available seedlings we have to make up the pack (ie 10 of the same, 10 different or any combination in between). Would it be possible to set something up like this with Zen Cart?

There are a few other things that we would also need ($1 extra for every specialty seedling added and express processing) but the main thing for now it is possible to even do what I described in the first paragraph.

Greatly appreciate any feedback and advice.

There would be at least 20. We would also need to have an explanation and picture for each of them too so the customers would know more about them.

explanation is up to you but each arrtibute can have an image attached

It is "swatch" in the attributes controller

They would need to be able to pick different seedlings to make up their pack. They may pick 20 of the same, or 20 different seedlings to make up the pack. With attributes they can only select one, can't they?

Well you could add 20 different attributes BUT unless you are on a fast dedicated server it will slow page loading down quite a bit

I don't understand how that will work? I'm not sure if I'm not understanding what you are saying to do, or you am not understanding what I am trying to accomplish.

We sell packs of seedlings in preset pack sizes. 10, 18, 20, 26 or 28. Customers can pick what ever seedlings they want to make up that pack. The packs have a set price but adding a premium seedling adds $1 for each one they add. (ie someone may want a 10 pack with 2 kale, 2 green crisp lettuce, 2 green beans, 2 basil and 2 chard). I don't understand how I would set that up as attributes to accomplish what I need? Can you explain it a bit more? Thanks

DeeL, you can use attributes to accomplish this using the Quantity Unit/Min/Max settings in your product's definition although I *think * that you'd need to define multiple products (one for each pack size) to accomplish this. From one of the demo products:

This product is purchased based on minimums and units.

The Min is set to 6 and the units is set to 3

Quantity Minimums and Units are designed to more or less force the customer to make purchases of a Minimum Quantity ... and if need be, in Units.

This product can only be purchased if you buy at least 6 ... and after that in units of 3 ... 9, 12, 15, 18, etc.

If you do not purchase it in the right Quantity, you will not be able to checkout.

When adding to the cart, the quantity box on the product_info page is "smart". It will adjust itself based on what is in the cart.

The Add to Cart buttons are also smart on New Products and Product Listing ... these also will adjust what is added to the cart.

For example: If there is 1 in the cart, the next use of Add to Cart will add 5 more to make the Minimum of 6. Add again and 3 more will be added to keep the Units correct.

Product Quantity Min/Unit Mix is for when a product has attributes.

If Mix is ON then a mix of attributes options may be used to make up the Quantity Minimum and Units. This means you can mix 1 blue, 3 silver and 2 green to get 6.

If the Mix is OFF then you may not mix 2 blue, 2 silver and 2 green to get 6.

This product has the Product Qty Min/Unit Mix set to ON
