Newsletter emailing tinyMCE html - hotmail & outlook.com removes core website address

I use zen cart v1.5.1 newsletter emailing tinyMCE and found that hotmail and outlook.com strips out of my hyperlinks within the newsletter email the core website address [shedloadofgifts.co.uk] leaving for example http:///easter-novelty-gifts. This also blocks any image displaying in the email.

Some of my customers have the same problem resulting in a failed display on the website. If I view the email via my windows phone the links works correctly.

I have tried looking for a previous thread to find a solution - but failed.

I had no problem in the previous version of 1.3.9. Does anyone have the same problem on version 1.5 and found a solution?

Many thanks
Roger

This is almost certainly a hotmail/outlook security setting that has nothing to do with ZenCart itself.

Is it possible that this 'problem' has always existed, but you simply didn't notice it until you upgraded?

What if you install CK Editor instead, and use that as your default editor... ?

Have to ask, what are your lines of thought here? Character encoding? Faulty links being created? Other?

I didn't even consider these possibilities myself (I suppose I should have).

Oh, and why only hotmail/outlook?

Hi Rod

I have an account on my own site and I receive newsletters just like my customers in hotmail. This problem happened at the time of upgrading. It could be that hotmail changed the security at the same time. I can't see what should be changed in hotmail - but I have seen customers having the same problem.

Thanks
Roger

Hi Rod

Outlook has no problem but the new outlook.com (upgrade to hotmail account) does strip out the core website address

I'd try Schoolboys suggestion to use the CK editor instead of tinyMCE (if for no other reason than it is a better and more reliable editor), but I'm still of the opinion that this will be a hotmail/outlook security setting rather than anything to do with zencart itself.

It wouldn't be the 1st time I've been wrong though.
