Duplicates Content 1.5 + CEO URL Mapping

Hi,

ZenCart 1.5 with Custom Theme + CEO URI Mapping

I'm facing an issue with duplicate content on my site and I would like to know which is the easiest way to solve it.

I have 2 languages installed, Spanish and English. Default is Spanish.

But for certain products I'm getting the following issue if you scan the site:

http://www.domain.com/tienda/product-number-1.html
http://www.domain.com/tienda/product-number-1.html?language=es

and the the URL for the other language.

So, i'm getting duplicate content for Spanish language, how I can I fix this to avoid duplicate content.

Stop using the URI mapping / SEO rewriters. ZenCart doesn't need them. They don't provide any significant benefits.

OK, I have one very simple question. Do your pages have duplicate content or not? If yes, the solution is simple. Change the content on one of the pages (a change of the language will suffice).

If no, then you won't have a duplicate content issue anyway........ Unless you are using a rewriter, in which case

http://www.domain.com/tienda/product-number-1.html and/or
http://www.domain.com/tienda/product...ml?language=es

will point to the exact same page as ZenCarts 'native' URL, which would be something like
http://www.domain.com/tienda/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_9&products_id=124

Bottom line, SEO rewriters create duplicate content by the simple fact that they provide two different URL's to the same content. The ZenCart native one AND the rewritten one.

If you have another explanation I'd love to hear it.
