Copy Products from Backup onto new installation

Hi, newbie here.

My company had a previous zencart catalog installed. We moved to a new server and I redid catalog with the cowboy template.

Now I need to restore all the products into the new catalog.

Is is possible to copy all the old products/categories into the new installation using FTP/FileZilla?

Note: my PhpMyAdmin (KonsoleH) only allows 5mb of upload.

Here is the domain: https://www.fae.co.za

NO, filezilla if for files and categories & products are stored in the database

Attempting to copy only select tables is fraught with pitfalls best to import the complete database and upgrade it

Re: Copy Products from Backup onto new installation

Your question indicates you do not understand how zencart's system of FILES and DATABASE work...

Product DATA is not stored in the FILES... it is stored in the DATABASE.

Your need to make a COPY of the entire site which involves:

  1. Making a copy of the FOLDERS/FILES

  2. Making a copy of the DATABASE

  3. EDITING the two configure.php files to tell the new "site" where everything sits.
