For international shipping prices different for 3 prices?

I had read from someone else but still wondering about it. So I have a quick question.

I wanted to get a shopping cart system that would fit my needs. I currently use paypal.com for card processing. The problem is that my paypal account from my European country (even if I upgraded it won't have this option) does not have a shipping calculator and I require a 3rd party shopping cart of some kind, or a script for it. I ran into this site. I charge customers different prices if they live outside of the US, Canada, and Internationally. With this shopping cart can I set it up some how that it will have different prices for the 3 different groups by any chances? (also if they order 1 or more it's more money for shipping). And does it require a lot of coding? I am not an expert on html. I currently even use weebly.com because yeah I am that big of a noob! lol Sorry! I also seen this is open cart and there is no price on this? I wanted to this this on different websites if even possible. Is it even possible to do this with Zen-card?

Thanks!

Yes, it is possible to have different shipping prices for different destination countries in Zen Cart.

There are many freely available shipping modules for different methods of figuring order handling without new coding required.
You can set up and use Zen Cart without any HTML knowledge, though you may need some HTML and CSS to customize the appearance or layout - it depends on what you want to do. There are free mods to make a lot of common customizations easily, and you can change anything at all in Zen Cart if you have the knowledge or are willing to hire someone to do it. There is no charge for using Zen Cart, though if you make money with it donations are encouraged to support ongoing development work. You will have to pay for hosting, and you should not cheap out and try to find bottom dollar hosting... you get what you pay for to an extent, and mass hosts like Godaddy do not have the resources to support e-commerce sites properly. The recommended hosts in Services at the top of this page are all expert at supporting Zen Cart.

Re: For international shipping prices different for 3 prices?

swguy - Thank you for replying. You said it is possible but it sounds like it's hard to do the way you are saying it lol. Is it easy to do or what not?

gih42 - Thank you so much for saying this. Everything I happen to find online is like $400+ programs/software/websites with the service. Like nothing I am looking for really you know? Paypal told me that I should have a script or so. I was stumped to hear that from them. Because I had no idea a script could do such a thing? I see websites online with the same paying systems all over the web, and I can't find out where or who and how they do it! When you say pay for hosting do you mean the program it self? I mean my websites I use weebly, I didn't lunch anything as of yet cause of the shipping prices. I am stuck on that one still. I only used weebly cause it's easy to build websites with no joke. I plan on having 150 websites. I might put them all on my godaddy account since I can put unlimited websites with my unlimited internet bandwidth to it. It's why I wanted to use weebly cause with them I can do e-commerce but yeah you are right. I can have my own servers here in the country no problem! But yeah still on the option for shipping. Once I get this fixed I can lunch everything. Maybe I can get someone on a coder website or freelancer or something like that to show me around or do the coding for me using this service? Yeah sounds great and everything I'll have to play around with it. And for sure I'd donate. Nothing is free in this world!

You can set up multiple shipping zones using the standard features of Zen Cart, without coding.

Why do you think you need 150 different websites? Would each of them have its own domain name? How much business do you expect you might do with each of them (how many transactions per week/day/month)? If you expect each of these to be tiny, you might be able to use Godaddy, but they and other mass-market hosts are known for crowding sites together on overloaded servers and not having totally reliable uptime. That's how they can afford to offer cheap hosting. It's okay for personal websites but not for real e-commerce where you expect to make a living from it.

The cost of hosting is strictly for the servers and support to make your site able to work. The Zen Cart or any other software installed on that site is not included in this.

150 websites for different brands of products I sell. I figured to have it's own dot com would be great! And also if I put ads in papers I know where the traffic flow of customers is coming from and also better to target more etc. Just a million other reasons. ;)

I will try Zen Cart! I got 1 website for now, everything was stopped due to shipping prices and all. I will for sure donate once I get this working! Be nice if they can do a special thing for us for donating like to our liking or something! I'd love to try this out will be up all night trying to figure this out for sure! Another sleepless night here I come! Yeah each site it's own domain name. Not sure on the transaction but some of them I won't even be putting ads for them. If I do it's like $25 or $50 just to test out down the road. But for now. I just want to have the sites build and up without doing ads. And doing afflicated program to see how it goes. A mix of things here and there like trail and error type. Sometimes a brand name works best then does not. I sell things on ebay and out of 5 brand names I found out 3 were VERY HOT and the other 2 after 1 year not so HOT! Yet same keywords just the name of the brand was not kicking it. I'd use godaddy but they don't have e-commerce as stated and weebly I like cause it's easy drag, and drop!

So Zen Cart has to be installed on the site? Or it's just a coding to put in? I'll find out more later when I get into it tonight. And from reading here. 150 sites is a lot but I think maybe 10 within the months to be. All looking the same really. Just different brand names.

You download the Zen Cart fileset, unzip it on your computer, and upload it to your hosting server using FTP (with an FTP client like Filezilla (free)). Your host will give you the details about where and how to use FTP. You also create a database using your hosting control panel - there should be simple instructions there. Then you follow the Zen Cart installer instructions that appear when you open the domain in a browser. There are lots of tutorials in the FAQ tab at the top of this page.

Re: For international shipping prices different for 3 prices?

Remember that if you have a separate site for each brand name, customers will not be able to buy things of two different brands at the same time, nor will they be able to move between brands easily or compare features of different brands. I think the "separate websites" idea is bad here, and you will do better to have separate categories for each brand in the one website. Domain names that clearly and simply refer to existing brands are most likely already taken, so you are not going to be able to have a neat family set of website names for your 150 brands. Focus on making the overall site attractive and useful, and make good category/brand landing pages in it. This means add good content to each main category page.

Thank you so much for the help tip. I hope weebly has this service!

No the different brands won't be on the same sites, just each brand it's own dot come really. If they land on one site they only see 1 type of a product brand. My brand names domains are not taken cause I have already got 28 of them, I did buy the domains but only 1 has things uploaded. I understand the market you are talking about but some afflicated programs I offer 10% 20% etc. Just different things.

Re: For international shipping prices different for 3 prices?

Hmm... I guess you must be selling things where customers don't want to compare different brands, or look at the other kinds of products you are selling... If you feel your marketing is better served by isolating every product/brand from others, that's your call. Good luck! :)

I don't know much about weebly, but I think they are a hosted e-commerce platform service, not an open host that will let you install your own e-commerce application.
