Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

Hello,

Can someone help with this question please: I need to change domain names, and to therefore move the database from one domain to the other. For info: I host all of this stuff (so all on the same server -- same directory tree, in fact), and both domain names are current at this time. So I can make any necessary changes.

Old domain is http://tyentsales.com and new is to be http://yourhealthdestiny.com. And the problem is, the login for the latter keeps taking me back to the former (which is still active -- and where I was having a repeat login requirement problem in the first place.)

Anyway, I've changed every instance of tyentsales.com to the yourhealthdestiny.com in the following areas:
Database, although none showed up that seemed to be URL-directive
includes/configure.php
admin(named differently)/includes/configure.php
(and I think one other place.)

Am I missing something? Is perhaps this redirecting from http://yourhealthdestiny.com to httpS://tyentsales.com due perhaps to the fact that I've not yet gotten an SSL Cert for this new domain. Even so, I can't imagine how it's getting it's direction to go there.

Clearly I'm missing the definition of something somewhere, but can't seem to find it.

Any help?

Thanks,

Is perhaps this redirecting from http://yourhealthdestiny.com to httpS://tyentsales.com
Where is this redirection setup??

FTP the configure.php files down from the server - do not use what you already have locally - open them and post them here x'ing out the DB details

Re: Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

Thanks Kobra,

I'm not sure where the redirection is coming from either. I wondered if it was the fact that I didn't have an https set up yet (although on the old one there is a SSL) Below is the one of the two configs. This one is from the admin/includes/configuration.php. The "minshealthdestiny" by the way, is the server name for the subdirectory that holds the understood site for http://yourhealthdestiny.com

<?php /** * @package Configuration Settings circa 1.3.9 * @copyright Copyright 2003-2010 Zen Cart Development Team * @copyright Portions Copyright 2003 osCommerce * @license <http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt> GNU Public License V2.0 * File Built by zc_install on 2011-12-16 07:51:11 */ /*************** NOTE: This file is similar, but DIFFERENT from the "store" version of configure.php. ***********/ /*************** The 2 files should be kept separate and not used to overwrite each other. ***********/ // Define the webserver and path parameters // Main webserver: eg-http://www.your_domain.com - // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg-http://www.your_domain.com // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg-https://www.your_domain.com // HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg-http://www.your_domain.com // HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg-https://www.your_domain.com /* * URLs for your site will be built via: * HTTP_SERVER plus DIR_WS_ADMIN or * HTTPS_SERVER plus DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN or * HTTP_SERVER plus DIR_WS_CATALOG or * HTTPS_SERVER plus DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG * ...depending on your system configuration settings * * If you desire your *entire* admin to be SSL-protected, make sure you use a "https:" URL for all 4 of the following: */ define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://yourhealthdestiny.com'); define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.yourhealthdestiny.com'); define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://yourhealthdestiny.com'); define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.yourhealthdestiny.com'); // Use secure webserver for catalog module and/or admin areas? define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true'); define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'true'); // NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes! // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) // these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... And this is the root/includes/configure.php:

Re: Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

I wonder if this isn't somehow in the DNS settings where the whole SSL thing takes over. Even though I don't have an SSL for the site, the login always seems to go to https (with the s). Is this universal? Or only for those that define a https SSL?

Re: Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

Thanks. But I believe I'm shot now. I tried dismantling the entire domain and rebuilding it. Figured that if I called the old database, it would work. Unfortunately in the process, it REWROTE over the whole database (no, no backup).

Well, the good news is it seems that it's working now. The bad news is I lost everything. [smiling through the pain]

No way to get back the old db, is there?

Were you not setting up a new database??
If so, your old database still exists
Just export it

Re: Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

Thanks kobra, but when I installed it, I gave it the same exact name as the old one, thinking that it would pull the files from there, and I'd be up and running. Never had a thought that it would overwrite the db. If I go into phpMyAdmin, all of the tables are now fresh -- unfortunately. My hosting service has a backup from two days ago, but unfortunately I'm having challenges getting it, in that I think he believes he restored it, but actually didn't yet -- as both "restored" and renamed old dbs in phpMyAdmin are precisely the same fileset.

I do remember reading that an "upgrade" was the choice of action and that an "install" would overwrite. But because I blew everything out, I never got that option, and had forgotten about it as I was going through it. I think it's gone; or at the very least, not in phpMyAdmin, which is the only place I know to look for it.

Re: Moving DB from one domain to another on same server

Update: Hosting service was able to locate and restore a back-up, thank You Lord. So, I'm fully up and running as I finish out this project. Still a puzzle as to why the login kept requesting. Perhaps a broken file. But thanks, kobra, for the help.
