Header Drop Down cart

@Diva: No, I'm not looking for a mega drop down at all. Actually, I've spent alot of time lately closely looking at Prestashop and even Tomatocart to see if they come with features I do would like; mega menus not a factor.

Glad you caught my point about the Opencart menu. I have not yet seen a ZC free drop down that can open one category into several sub-columns wide; I think that is what the OP was after.

It may be simple to make; but I don't see many using it except for commercial ZC templates.

Are we done on this?

Are we done on this?"open one category into several sub-columns wide" = mega-menu like feature.. it's not a commercial feature.. it's easy to add with some CSS magic, and there are enough menus that one could use as an example of how to add mega-menu like features to one of the existing categories menu add-ons.. So if that mega-menu feature in a categories dropdown menu is REALLY what the OP wanted (as opposed to JUST a categories menu), it's totally doable if one is willing to roll up one's sleeves..

and with that.. yeah.. I'm done now..

Edited to add:
the mega menu add-on (available standalone or bundled in may of Picaflor's templates). Can be modified to display the categories in multiple columns.. Did that here: http://clientlaserdiscvault(dot)overthehillweb(dot)com/. This same functionality could be applied to the category dropdown menus too..

Re: Header Drop Down cart

@Diva, yes, I see what you did. I have also been using Picaflor templates and accidentally figured out how to make a two-column category drop down like yours. Even tried three cols. But after further inspection, it caused other problems (don't recall what.)

Yes, obviously doable if one can and wants to roll up their sleeves.

BTW, that site reminds me of one of Picaflor's. Maybe she even has a commercial template that has the menu the OP wants? Which I think is having categories going across the top of the site, each opening or having the potential to open in several columns.

BTW, that site reminds me of one of Picaflor's.Perhaps that's because I used one of her templates (sans the homepage tabs) as the basis for my own custom template.. The color scheme worked with the custom graphics/design my client paid for.. and well umm.. it's not like you can't tell since her link is part of the site credits..

Which I think is having categories going across the top of the site, each opening or having the potential to open in several columns.Well I personally don't think the OP need to BUY a template or any menu add-on JUST to get mega menu like features in a categories menu.. I think it's pretty easy for the OP to take an EXISTING categories menu add-on and add that silly mega menu feature if he wants it.. It's done with CSS and it's really not that hard to implement (with a little help from Anne I figured it out)..

AND...

He can ALWAYS seek help making that customization (if this is TRULY what he wants) on the support thread for these add-ons..
