Corrupted Manage Adminstrators Page

I need some help. I want to add another administrator to manage my soccer clubs online store. The issue I am having is when I go to tools>Admin Settings page it is no longer there. When I go to that page the following is displayed in the address bar. http://xxxxxxxxx.org/ZenCart/zc_admin/FILENAME_ADMIN.php. I get the Web Page not found error page. When looking at my actual web site folders on the server I do see an admin file in the zc_admin folder. When I replace the FILENAME_ADMIN with just admin I get a page that looks like it should be the page I need but it is blank and it says there is errors on it. No administrators are displayed.

Now the 2 administrators logins that I have already set up still work but I have no way of adding a new one or deleting any old ones. Any thoughts on how to repair or fix this issue?

Re: Corrupted Manage Adminstrators Page

You didn't say what version of Zen Cart you're using, or when you last upgraded or what versions upgraded from, let alone what addons/plugins you've got installed, etc.

Unlike v1.3.x where the Admin users were handled under Tools->Admin Settings, since v1.5.0 that was moved to a new menu called Admin Access, beside the Tools menu, not under it.
Sounds like you've got a broken hybrid, and will need to clean up whatever was damaged in your upgrade or by an old plugin that needs its admin components updated.

Re: Corrupted Manage Adminstrators Page

Sorry I am using Zen Cart 1.5.1 Database Patch Level: 1.5.1 I am using a template called Blue Sky. I do not believe that I have added any addons. I also do not see the Admin Access area that you mentioned. I am a novice at managing so please do not assume I know all the basics. Still learning. Thanks in advance for your help. I believe it was an upgrade from1.3.

Greg Jayne:

Sorry I am using Zen Cart 1.5.1 Database Patch Level: 1.5.1 ... I believe it was an upgrade from1.3.

Then as Dr Byte suggests, it looks like the upgrade was not properly done, because you are not experiencing behaviour that is indicative of a 1.5 version.

I would suggest you BACKUP your site, switch it to DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE, then re-upload the admin main folder again.

BEFORE you do this, go to TOOLS menu and look up Server / Version info... What database version is being reported? What ZC version is being reported?

Re: Corrupted Manage Adminstrators Page

Greg Jayne:

Zen Cart
Zen Cart 1.5.1

Database Patch Level: 1.5.1
v1.5.1 [2012-09-23 23:48:33] (Version Update 1.5.0->1.5.1)
v1.5.1 [2012-09-23 23:46:50] (Version Update 1.5.0->1.5.1)
v1.5.0 [2012-09-23 23:46:50] (Version Update 1.3.9->1.5.0)
v1.3.9h [2012-03-10 11:13:55] (Fresh Installation)

So this tells you that the upgrade to 1.5.1 was done on 2012-09-23 at 23:48:33 .

So... you MIGHT have added plugins to the site AFTER that date, that affect the ADMIN files. If plugins were added after that date, and they DID affect admin files, you will see (in your FTP pane) the DATE files were added/edited.

If there are any ADMIN files that show a date AFTER 2012-09-23 23:48:33, then you need to make a note of these and also make sure these are BACKED UP and saved off the server.

Then do a FULL backup of the entire site.

Then, you can proceed with the re-upload of all admin files. You can FTP them, and allow the FTP to OVERWRITE all files.

Then, you may need to manually add back those noted files. (if any exist).

Re: Corrupted Manage Adminstrators Page

Ok Thanks. I will see if I can figure it out. I do not think I added any addons. The 2 Administrators that I have already were created before the upgrade. This was the 1st time I have tried to view or do anything with the administrators section. So it most likely was corrupted during the upgrade. This is an online store for a soccer club. They are looking to open the store only for about a month and then close it back down again. I am just going to let the person who is going to be overseeing the store just log on with my information. I will attempt to fix this issue after the month is over. The store is working other than the issue I am having so I do not want to mess with it at this time. Since I am a novice at this I will most likely mess something up and will most likely have to re-create it. I really appreciate everyone's help with this. I am sure I will be checking back in when I attempt to work out the fix.
