How do I change what shows in browser window?

How do I change the browser window to show "wesite/Category/Product" instead of having"website/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7&zenid=2qi7ie9qs873dctgcdmljmhr96" in ZenCart? The last OSecomerce system I was using was easy..I just had to go in and check mark a button to get it to show category/product and eliminate all the unnecessary jargon for the customer standpoint. I am new to using ZenCart and am noticing some things are similar...some not to my old ecommerce.

There are URL rewriters available in the plugin area

I am also trying to look at it from an SEO stand point. I am not sure if by not having the categories and products showing how that will affect Google placement and listings under certain product keywords....or if a lot of that will be regulated thru the product Meta tags. With the old ecommerce there wasn't options for separate product Metas like there are in ZenCart...so for me the categories linking to and displaying the product in the browser help with getting more product and website recognition in the search engines.
But thanks for the reply. I will look into it further and see if it affects me or not.

You will find many strong opinions on both sides of that question. It used to be that the rewriters had serious points, but apparently Google and other search engines are depending less and less on the URL or metatags, and more on actual content analysis.

They have no proven benefits.

The 3rd party add-ons are known to be the cause of many problems and headaches, generally in the implementation/installation process, but also the occasional(?) conflict with other modules.

When people have problems with 'page not found' and other similar/common errors, the 1st piece of advice given is 'Disable your SEO module'.

Note: I have nothing against SEO as a concept, it is just this particular aspect of it that I've come to loathe.
