descriptions not showing in new box on home

As in the title, the "new products for month" box in homepage displays title, and proce, but not the description.
In the configuration is set to 150 characters.

zen cart stock code does not display the products description in the new, featured or specials centerboxes

I mean the first (exerpt) part of it, it used to do so till last month.

Did you make any changes to /includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/new_products.php file recently?

Check that file to see if the products description code is there?

Should look something like this:

$products_description = zen_trunc_string(zen_clean_html(stripslashes(zen_get_products_description($new_products->fields['products_id'], $_SESSION['languages_id']))), PRODUCT_LIST_DESCRIPTION);

then further down in the same file should see something like this:

$products_description

Friend says hasn't touched any file, I compared the live file with the copy I had, and they are the same.

Peculiarity is it behaves like that only on homepage, whereas if you go to the category i.e.
cadante dot com /i ndex.php?main_page=index&cPath=1
the description shows correctly.
