Bottom banner

I tried searching for the file name in the Developer toolkit first but had no luck. Where / how can I remove the ZenCart ad banner at the very bottom of the page?

If you do not want any banner in the footer area

admin > config > layout settings >
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 1
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 2
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 3

Make them all "blank"

How is an external footer banner link added or changed?

Instead of the default index page, I would like the banner links to point to a specific category or product.

Figured out the link issue on another one of my zen sites. The domain didn't like the full address.

The problem on this particular site is that I think I broke the page and now no Banner 3 will appear.

All are green and sort ordered. All banner boxes are on now. Cache is disabled during development.

Where in the code could one have turned off the footer banner?

Only thing I can think of is that you don't have a banner associated with Footer Position 3 in Admin - Configuration - Layout Settings.

Then it's time to upgrade to 1.5.1. That'll fix it.
