I know I am going to get hammered for my comments but I can't hold on any longer.
Some times I hate Zencart plugin-ins as much as I love them. So much instruction you need to read to find what is relevant and what is not. Sometimes sidelined information inserted in the specific instructions puts you off the track. Most plugins work seamlessly and I am happy and grateful for that. I guess it is a matter of choice and skill levels on both sides (as the plugin developer and the end user). I will give a miss to this one as my Image Handler works fine for now. I can do without the Zen light box (not that I am saying it is the cause of my problems). It may well be the combination of two plugins. It worked fine in my other projects without IH. Again I am not saying anything wrong with the plugins. It is the installation process that gets me.
Those who use WordPress know what I am talking about when it comes to ease of using plugins. I wish Zencart has a tougher policy when it comes to approving plugins and set higher standards for supplying such plugins with demos etc.
Finally to be totally honest and I am not going to go through and read pages and pages of all the ins and outs of installation for a some special effect plugin if it can't explain it self simply in one page. You may agree or disagree.
There you go :-)
With regards to IH4 the current set of install instructions, they have DRASTICALLY reduced the number of support posts for IH4 because they now provide all the information a shopowner needs to install and USE this module.. What pages and page is there to read?? The readme includes information that was FREQUENTLY asked in the Image Handler support threads going all the way back to IH2. The readme now even explains how to install IH4 and two of the most popular lightbox modules together because this question was asked ALL the time on the IH4, Fual Slimbox, and Zen Lightbox support threads.. Many stores have both IH4 and one of these two lightbox plugins installed together and they are working with no issue.. Now if you are saying that the user instructions are not clear, then I am happy to hear a suggestion on how things should be worded so they are clear..
Comparing WordPress to Zen Cart in terms of plugins management is comparing apples to oranges. The Zen Cart admins DO vet plugins just as well as the WordPress admins do. NEITHER dev team does any kind of QA/Testing of their plugins. They look for obvious errors and omissions.. (WordPress BTW does not require supplying plugin demos)

I don't answer support questions via PM. Post add-on support questions in the support thread. The question & the answer will benefit others with similar issues.
