Step one... after it is installed NOW WHAT? How do I load all my products?

Is there a downloadable cvs file/template that i can complete off line and then upload?
Or do I have to include one product at a time manually?
Is there a program that will convert my manufacturers text databse to fit into your template/database format for uploading?
