Blank Home screen after Install

Hi, I've just loaded up a new store and I have my admin screen and can log in and work as normal. However, I can't get the actual store to come up. I only get a blank screen. When I click on the link to open my store from within the admin panel I get this: * http://www.girlsgotgroove.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=*
And the page is blank.

I have checked my debug logs and I get this message: [01-Jun-2013 09:47:22 Australia/Perth] PHP Warning: require(includes/languages//index.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/girlsgot/public_html/store/index.php on line 48
[01-Jun-2013 09:47:22 Australia/Perth] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages//index.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /home2/girlsgot/public_html/store/index.php on line 48

I'm not too sure when to go from here as it's getting a bit technical for me! Can you offer some tips or help here?

Cheers
Tanya

Re: Blank Home screen after Install

Based on the double slashes showing in the error statement ... you might first check your files for:
/includes/configure.php
/your_admin/includes/configure.php

You can post them, from the server, without the database password information or admin directory name, if in the older style configure.php for the Admin ...

Thanks Ajeh, this is the admin/includes/configure.php file that I have. I can't see where it is incorrect!! Sorry to post it like this, but couldn't work out how to do it otherwise as an attachment.

Me neither. The problem is more likely to be in the
/includes/configure.php file though (not this one from /admin/) because you did mention that you've no problem with the admin side of things.

Also check that you don't have a file called .htaccess in your /store/ folder. If you do, rename it to see if the problem goes away before looking any further.

Cheers

That looks fine, how about the file, from the server, for:
/includes/configure.php

@ RodG - have no .htAccess file - so it's not that. I did see that in previous troubleshooting notes too.

Here's the other configure file - not the admin one.

Re: Blank Home screen after Install

My_Red_Zebra:

Here's the other configure file - not the admin one.

I'm not seeing anything obviously amiss with this one either.

I'm not really sure what to make of this. Perhaps double check where your files were uploaded to. Perhaps these configure files aren't the ones actually being used?

Perhaps someone else can spot something I've missed?

Cheers

Re: Blank Home screen after Install

Oh, one thing that could be worth a closer look, and that's your FS_paths, which are configured as being /home2/....

Nothing wrong with this, as long as /home2/ is indeed correct.

Some hosts have been known to 'move' their customers to/from /home/home1/home2/ etc as they deem fit, and often without notification.

I won't say its a common occurrence, but its something to look for.

Cheers

Re: Blank Home screen after Install

Thanks Rod. I'm using home2 as that is what is identified via my hosting but I'll try it with just home to see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't I'll reload it again tomorrow and see if using my 'work' network gives me a better result rather than my home internet service. We only have ADSL2 at home and I've noticed that sometimes uploads aren't always successful. When doing a full ZenCart upload, I guess it's possible to have a 'misload' somewhere! Thanks for all the help.

It's probably correct then.

My_Red_Zebra:

but I'll try it with just home to see if that makes a difference.

I'd probably have never asked or suggested that you 'experiment' with this on account of the fact that you'll either end up breaking something, or, you'll end up breaking something. :)

However, in the off chance it doesn't make any difference, then it implies that the file(s) you are editing really aren't the ones being used.

Either way, the results will tell us something useful (hopefully)

Especially when some of the files may be configured for 'read only' access. They can easily fly by with unnoticed errors.

Also, there is something about the error log extract that you posted, and what we are not seeing in your configure files that is screaming out to me that the cause of your problem should/must be 'obvious'. Alas, it is eluding me. I think this is going to be a 'Doh!' moment when the penny drops.

Re: Blank Home screen after Install

Okay, so I've totally reloaded ZenCart from work using our 'better' internet connection and wa la!! all works fine. Thank you so much and sorry to have taken up your time over the weekend. However, I'm sure I will be in touch about something else I can't work out in the future. You guys have been terrific.
