USPS Rate Quote server down?

Cart stopped running the quote module on the shopping cart page and gave completely blank screen for checkout page earlier this morning. Mucked around with it for a while and finally tried disabling shippers. UPS works fine. Had to disable USPS to make things work. Tried their web site and the whole thing was down for a little while. Their main face is back up but still can't get quotes from them. Anyone else in this boat? (wondering if they reset some things or my quote account is broken/expired)

I was having issues but things are back now from what I can tell ...

Our USPS rate quotes have been down most of the day. (UPS is working fine)
USPS C/S told me they experienced a technical problem overnight and lost several services including the rate API. He said it can be intermittent and they are working on it... No ETA.
The message displayed in my shipping cart is:
"An error occurred in obtaining USPS shipping quotes.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner."
