Where have all my hits gone?

Having read trough most of the threads regarding all the problems upgrading to 1.5.1 from 1.39 I decided to do a fresh install into a sub directory of my existing site and rebuild everything there first( we wanted to completely re-do our stock anyway)
Everything went perfectly well including a template and various other plugins and add-ons.
I found a thread about moving the site to a different folder etc and followed it to the letter and everything works perfectly, indeed we got an order on the site within hours
However we seem to have gone from around 5000 hits a day to about 50. I appreciate that all our product pages would have been incorrect on all the spidering and cached pages etc, but we have re-submitted the site for indexing many times since and I have seen the traffic spike when we a clearly being indexed, but still no traffic
Has anybody got any ideas

Site is mobile2gaming.com

I'm not sure why the pages would be incorrect. You said you put the temporary site back in the place of the original live site, right? In that case the links wouldn't change at all as far as spidering goes.

your question about hits is a much broader issue than just hits. You haven't indicated what your usual "source" of traffic is, and what other changes exist between old and new traffic stats. Was it always from search engines? or from bookmarks? or returning customers? or? or? or? or?

you said you resubmitted the site, but that doesn't guarantee traffic
And, even though the search engine knows what your resubmitted links are doesn't have any direct correlation to hits

hits might be down just because people aren't interested, perhaps seasonally

hits might be down because google changed their algorithms ... which has indeed affected many sites recently
