Re: My shopping cart page is a mess...

Other than the fact you've used all 64 of the crayons, your one-click.css (from Amazon) is telling the h3 tags to display inline.

Be careful that you are not jumping on your horse and riding madly off in all directions. Your multiple posts in many areas suggest that you are trying to put the emphasis on the site in spite of the product. You are trying to do so many things at once that you are creating more problems with each addition.

You have many stylesheets whose names indicate you have installed more than one mod for a single purpose. Some of those mods actually fight each other.

Here's a quick rule of thumb that I use.

  1. Install Zen Cart
  2. Create or download a template and install/adjust it. (avoid store-bought)
  3. Create logical categories
  4. Create logical products with descriptive content (don't copy someone verbatim) pertaining to that product. (You have a lot of individual products that might be better served as an attribute).
  5. Use images that are properly sized and formatted or use Image Handler.
  6. Set a price for the item that is competitive in your market.
  7. Open the store and start selling.

Notice I didn't mention SEO, quick checkout, order edits, mass mailers, etc. None of those are needed to sell product and you can start changes on a test site while the other is making money.

If you want to sell something for GoneDaddy, Amazenone, etc., go to work for them. Unless the click-throughs are paying the bills and part of the salaries, why would you want someone to leave your site?

Zen Cart is VERY capable of performing it's e-commerce duties with little or no "fireworks."

Pretty much my procedure too, with two important additions.

  1. Install Image Handler immediately after installing the template. (Step #5 can then be dropped).

  2. Insert before step#3:
Using pen and paper, determine how you want your products to be categorised.
Experience has taught me that proceeding to step#3 without this pre-planning invariably leads to very time consuming re-organising in the not so distant future. Time spent with good paper planning in this early stage is quite possibly one of the best investments a new merchant can make.

Well, at least that's my opinion (curiously, this is one of the few things I continue to do with pen and paper these days).

Cheers

Re: My shopping cart page is a mess...

Remove this, and you'll see a big difference:

<link media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/cba/styles/one-click.css">

Thus, it suggests that your Amazon plugin is clashing with css styles used on your site for other purposes than just amazon stuff.

Re: My shopping cart page is a mess...

Well, since I'm not using any plugins related to amazon, I don't know exactly.

But I do know two easy ways to find out:

a) Look at the amazon / one-click plugin that you installed. Right there in that zip you will find all the files that you added to your site, including what folders you placed them in.
Then go to your actual site and, assuming you actually did copy them all to your site correctly, you'll find all those files in the corresponding folders.
Further, the installation instructions might have given some guidance on code to add to various files, including template files. So, you'll need to look at those edits you made there as well.

b) Search your entire site for "amazon" or the phrase "one-click.css": use the Admin->Tools->Developers Toolkit and in the last set of fields (search all files) put in one-click.css and tell it to search all catalog files and all .php files, and click search. That will show you all the files where the search word/phrase is found. Then decide yourself which one is relevant to your goal and go make the relevant corresponding edits to suit your goals.

Those are just two of many ways to find which file to edit in a given situation.
