images wont show after imported products

hi

ive just imported products using easy populate, only the product images wont show up? in the csv file im putting in where it wants image url as http://www.supplier web address.co.uk/shop/images/randomimages/laptopscreen3.png (this is where they say to go)

but the image does not pick up? have i done something wrong or is there anything i can do?

You cannot call remote images this way. The system (as is evidenced in your configure.php files) requires product images to be in a directory on YOUR server.

There are ways of "editing" the system to call remote images, but this is not advised. It is better to get all your images into the images folder on YOUR server.

ok i see, i thought it be easier to have the pics remote as you say as there is over 23 thousand products and didnt want to edit the url for each of them every time i re-upload the csv file

what is the way so it can pull remote images?

Hhhmm, think about this a little.... lets assume this could be easily done, in effect you will be providing the Search Engines with over 23 thousand links to your suppliers site (links that should be to promote your own site). How well do you think this will go for your Search rankings?

Sometimes it pays to think of the bigger picture.

with ep4 it is possible to only import model price and quantity. so you will only need to edit the image paths once.

when i get a new product list from supplier say they have 1000 different products then my images wont match the images they should be
