I suddenly cannot add or edit Product Descriptions!

I suddenly cannot add or edit Product Descriptions!

All of sudden out of the blue, I can no longer add product description on a new product, nor can I edit product description on existing products. Any advice. Thank you.

I should add, that on the product page in the admin, the description area is "greyed out" and does not allow any typing in the area.
