Can't get into my admin after moving to a new server

I want to upgrade to v1.5 but I can't get into my admin to first save some settings.

This is because my host recently moved the zencart site to a different address (as part of the process of moving to a new server).

I am afraid to run the install.php again in case I lose everything.

I am assuming I must first make a backup of the DB, but is running install.php the correct thing to do?

What error are you getting when trying to access your current admin?

Re: Can't get into my admin after moving to a new server

It's possible that your store's file-system path changed when the host changed servers. Assuming that you can still access the store's files via FTP:

  1. Create a file named check.php that contains
<?php phpinfo();
  1. FTP this file to the root of your store (where the store's index.php resides).
  2. Open a web browser and enter the address https://www.yourstore.com/check.php
  3. Search for the string SCRIPT_FILENAME; the value to the right of that is the file-system path to the root of your store (less the /check.php portion)
  4. Delete the check.php file (very important!)

Inspect your /includes/configure.php and /YOUR_ADMIN/includes/configure.php files to see that the DIR_FS-type defines contain the current file-system path. If not, make the changes and re-upload. Remember that your /includes/configure.php file is read-only, so you'll need to reset the permissions so that you can overwrite it via FTP.
