USPS module ver 2013 7-28 J No International GXG quotes

Just installed the latest update like everyone else scrambling to minimize down time.
Everything works fine, but GXG quotes are not being displayed for my international customers.

• Latest zen cart 1.51
• Removed module, have RTFM and followed the FM.
• Installed and tested all methods Priority , EMS for domestic. Priority, EMS , GXG envelope
• No specific error codes generated.
• Tested addresses California, New York, London, and Moscow
• GXG envelopes works, but not GXG package.

Any insights will be very helpful, and thank you for making this update.

The porblem is related to this section of the usps.php code file:

What shipping methods do you use for the Domestic?

What shipping methods do you use for the International?

Domestic methods are:
Priority
Priority Express
Global Exp Guar(GXG)

Additional options selected:
Insurance, handling fee 2, handling per order

International methods are:
Priority
Priority Express
USPS GXG Envs
Global Exp Guar(GXG)

Additional Options selected:
Handling fee 2, handling pre order

Can you check that again? Domestic doesn't have a GXG ...

my apologies. No GXG was elected for domestic. Only International.

Can you test an idea quickly, and see if it fixes your problem?

After making the change on each of those 3 lines, do your GXG quotes come back properly?

Applied the code changes listed in that post.
Emptied cache, and retried.
GXG still does not appear as an option. No apparent error message.

There are two shipping methods with GXG in them ...

Are you trying to get both:
USPS GXG Envs
Global Exp Guar(GXG)

to show at the same time?

A new Version J3 has been published since then, which fixes International and GXG issues:

Just updated to version J3. Module was uninstalled, new files copied in, reinstalled.
GXG does not show up as an option.

Ajeh: I am currently only interested in having GXG for production. But I was just trying every option just to see what works and what doesn't.

In the default settings for USPS ... the dimensions allow all of the shipping methods for BOTH Domestic and International shipping to show ... EXCEPT Global Express Guaranteed

To show Global Express Guaranteed ... you need larger dimensions as stated inside the usps.php code ... but that will PREVENT other shipping methods from show both Domestic and International ...

I have to run through all the methods to check specifics on which ones will not show

Ahhh. okay, that can be a real problem and not quite a solution.
As most people , including myself would like other options such as priority and ems as well as GXG to show as options for customers to pick.
I'll patiently wait for a proper solution to this problem then. At least for the most part, customers can still shop.

I am working on a better solution as I finally have you ... a guy who really needs the mixed lot ... :cool:

This means you have become a guinea pig ... err ... important helper for fixing that major issue ... :lookaroun

I will be looking at the fix in about 30-60 minutes or so ... so the solution may be delayed a bit for you ...

Yup. It worked. GXG showed up for both of my test addresses in London and Moscow.

Curious whether it's giving the rates you expected. Kinda depends on the dimensions of your packages though.

My gut feeling, and looks like it is the proper rate quoted. I'll have to actually run it in production and checksum within our production environment to see how accurate it is.
Previous versions actually has a problem with undersizing the package, which often result a lower than required rate quote.
But with the new individual handling fee attributes, that can also help tune it to the business requirements.
