While this is not much of a bug report, as this is more related with the core. But I have notice the new shipment contains 8 bit characters. While half of zen-cart handles messaging in 7bit, others in UTF 8.
The (R) ends up being turned into 7 bit gibberish for our email notifications.
However, the actual invoice and edit order are in 8bit, so its more a cosmetic sort of thing. Not sure if it's worth resolving but, just a good FIY

Here's a part sample of what my email notification looks like:

Products

1 x Eternal Rose Bouquet Bonnet - Mint (132KH3-11473-mt) = $79.20
1 x Eternal Rose Bouquet Over Knee - Mint (132KS3-7409-mt) = $28.00

Sub-Total: $107.20
United States Postal Service (Priority Mail International®): $42.90
Shipping Insurance: $3.80
Total: $153.90

I don't think "7-bit" is correct terminology here. But, regardless ...

Can you try going to your Zen Cart Admin and in the Configuration ... Email Options ... add to the:
Convert currencies for Text emails:

£,£:€,€:®,®:™,™

Let us know if that is the "quick temporary work around"/fix for RM and TM ...

Oh ha! I over looked that! Thanks again! <3

Thanks for the update that this has fixed your emails and relations to Trademarks and Registered Trademarks ... example: ® ™ RM and TM issues ...
