Free Shipping working incorrectly...

Some of my products are coming up with only the Free Shipping option when they are not supposed to...Most of them are in the same master category. I can't seem to find any other connection between the products that are using free shipping vs. the ones that are using USPS/UPS correctly.

I have freeshipper enabled, but none of the products have the "Yes, Always Free Shipping" option selected. They all have the "No, Normal Shipping Rules" option selected.

Please help! :(

If you go to "Games & Gifts", that is where most of the products that are having the problem are coming from. However, it is only doing the free shipping on some of them, not all.

Check the Product weight ... if you have 0 weight means Free Shipping that will then make Always Free Shipping and 0 weight be Free Shipping ...

Have you specific products_id that are doing this? :lookaroun

So after much trial and error, I figured out that if the "Products Model" field begins with "GIFT", it causes that product to have Free Shipping Only. Weird...

What could be causing this, and is there a way to fix it?

Oh yeah that silly rule ...

All Products with a products_model that starts with:
GIFT

means this is a Gift Certificate to be treated different ... (also rules on Product Virtual with GV)

But shipping sees that GIFT and says ... Okay, Free Shipping it is!

Okay, so it's just a default rule and can't be changed, I presume?

Oh, sorry lost my train of thought and for got to say ...

Try changing it to:
Gift(something here)

Just do not say:
GIFT(something here)
