USPS Module upgrade not working on our site

We are expericing a problem with the latest USPS module upgrade. We have been using Zen Cart for 5 years and have installed several of these rate upgrades without any problems in the past, but this one is not working for us.

The debug screen gives this information:

We are running 1.38a, HTTP Server: Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS), PHP Version: 5.1.6 (Zend: 2.1.0) PHP Memory Limit: 32M, Database: MySQL 5.0.45.

We just want to use USPS first class package and USPS Priority for International shipping. We use a the zone shipping module for our domestic shipping.

We have turned off the module until we can get this resolved because it prevents anyone from checking out using our other shipping methods. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you switch the Debug to Logs ... then try a quote on the checkout_shipping and then look in your directory /cache and Zip the current (most recent) debug logs that start with:
myDEBUG-
SHIP_usps_Debug_

and post the Zip here as an attachment ...

You probably don't want to hear this but.... Everything you are running on this server is old and subject to hacking, takeover, or worse.

Also, this might be part of your upgrade problem. Ajeh can better tell you if any code in the new USPS is invalid with these old server settings.

We are working on an 1.39h upgrade. (We don't want the required password changes of 1.5.) We have to upgrade our server programs to meet the minimum requirements. Will upgrading to 1.39h solve our problem with this module?

In your v1.3.8a, there is a file:
/extras/curltest.php

Could you run that file:
your_domain.com/your_subdirectory_if_any/extras/curltest.php

and see what comes up?

That sounds to me like CURL is not working on your site for v1.3.8a and that means ... you are doomed ... :blink:

If you run the same file on your v1.3.9h, do you get different results?

NOTE: on the failed CURL for your v1.3.8a, if that is what the issue is about, you need your Hosting provider to fix your site so that you can use CURL ...

I will get our webmaster to investigate more, but we use the Payflow Pro gateway module and we are not having any problems collecting payment. This module requires curl???????????

I had to reupload the extras folder because I removed it per the security recommendations. Does the curltest.php file require any special permissions?

No you should just be able to run it if it is there ...
