Internal Link through EZ-Pages

Hello:

I need to place a link on some of my products that goes to a sizing page for pets, and another for airline regulations for pet carriers. I suppose you can do this through EZ-Pages but what do you place for the internal link. The explanation that is offered on the EZ-Page itself isn't so "EZ" to understand. Also, if I wanted to place a .jpg in the area of the link, where would I need to upload it to.

I want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me here. It hasn't been easy switching from FrontPage to Zen but I am eventually getting the hang of it. One thing at a time!

You would do an <a href ...> and use something like this for the path: index.php?main_page=page&id=5

I don't understand the image question.

To make the jpeg the clickable link that goes to the ez-page, use it as the content of the <a>. Something like this:```html
<a href="index.php?main_page=page&id=5"><img src="images/yourimage.jpg" alt="link to sizing chart" /></a>

In this example, you would save the image in the base /images/ folder where product images go.

By the way, your original question is ambiguous. Do you want to put the sizing and regulation info into ez-pages, or do you have full Zen Cart pages ready with the info? If you don't need to run PHP in your pages (you probably don't), just putting your HTML for the chart in the ez-page editing screen will take care of it. This is not an "internal link"; that means using the ez-page system to point to a non-ez-page in your site.

You're right, I don't have full Zen Cart pages ready with the info. So I guess I can just place the info into an EZ-Page screen like you say but how do I link from one page to the EZ-Page?

As Glenn said. The path in the href would point to the EZ page with the id of 5. Use the same path and change that number to point to a different EZ page.

I am obviously doing something wrong. It didn't take at all. I don't want this in any of the sideboxes so I left all of the boxes in the EZ-Page at "no." I'm not sure what I am doing wrong?

Enable at least one of the ez-page link locations (header, sidebox, footer) WITH a sort order, making sure the corresponding menu/sidebox is activated. This will show a link to your ez-page. Click on that and you will see the ez-page content, and the URL in the address bar will include "&id=5" or whatever the ez-page id is. This is the number you need to use in your product page link. When you have this working, you can disable the regular menu/sidebox again.

OK, I have most of it. I just can't figure out what to place in the link in the EZ-Page? When I chose the image "Sizing Guide" it gives 3 alternatives and I don't know what to do from there. I placed the "&id=4" per your directions and I think that worked. Almost there!

Here is the page of product that contains the link. Both of the EZ-Pages are now in the right side-box: The first one placed is "what size carrier is right for your dog. The second is Airline carrier rules. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I thought I followed your directions but obviously not.

I have it all set up now and I am apparently doing something wrong. I thought I followed your suggestions but I guess not. There are two EZ-Pages now in the right side-box. They are: "What size carrier is right for your dog?" and Airline carrier rules.

You're almost there - it looks like you have the HTML wrong in the link. The link to the Airline Rules should look like this:

<a href="index.php?main_page=page&id=4"><img src="images/airline_carrier_rules.jpg" alt="link to airline carrier rules" /></a>

Size Cart would be the same except the page number would be 5.

I am still messing this up. When I am in CKEditor and I click on the Sizing Guide .jpg, then I click on the Link sign that looks like & sideways then I add my link. It asks for several different things, http:// ftp: and others. This is where I think I am messing up.

Dont use the editor. Select plain text and paste the code I (and Glenn) supplied in the page where you want it.
