Anyone else have trouble after Hostgator moved your site to new hardware

Just wondering if Anyone else is having trouble after Hostgator moved your site to new hardware ???

My hosting service Hostgator, which has been terrific up until now, are migrating all their sites to new servers ( I assume because of their new parent company EIG). And as a result, my site went down about 24 hours ago and it is not looking good for them to figure out how to fix it. I do not want to go back to a small hosting service, but was considering Go Daddy . Just wondering if anyone has used Go Daddy for their Zen cart , please PM me with your experience.

In time gone by people have indeed had troubles with GoDaddy server performance. While things have improved greatly with them in the past year, since they're so large it means you're just a number ... no better than your previous host.

A better choice is to choose someone who specializes in ZC and tunes their servers specifically for optimal performance for ZC. Look at the ones who specifically mention Zen Cart here: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?16-Compatible-Hosting

That said, I've had several HostGator sites migrated in the past few weeks, without any issues whatsoever. Never missed a beat. Best to take up your issues with their support team.

IN the past ten years Hostgator has been the best hosting service I have ever had. I tried a number of smaller services and some were, well abominable. The last one I had was a nightmare. They actually had me believe that a periodic nightly down time (per my monitoring service) was normal. And customer service was not only poor but sometimes even rude. I won;t mention any names. But, what I have learned from my own experience is Every hosting service will eventually have issues. But, the larger services seem better equipped, more reliable and superior and more professional customer service. I waited 24 hours with Hostgator and it was looking like deja vue, with no resolution in site, so since my site is my primary revenue producer, I started looking for options.

However, tonight about 28 hours later, my site appears to be back in business. Have not tested all payment mods, etc but so far so good. So, even though anxiety level was high Hostgator is still by far the best service , (out of about five that I used over past 10 years) I've used. Even though I wish these hosting services would have much better "fall back procedures/plans" in place.. For example, why when they do these migrations do they "turn off" the original server before all transferred websites are tested successful... Chalk a couple days of lost business up to the cost of running a business.

I also used GoDaddy and am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY about them. As mentioned earlier with them you're just a number. As a Domain registrar they are one of the WORST. They hijacked my 2 {dot} sites because they require that you transfer to their DNS server. Both of these they are now trying to sell back to me. One of them is now priced @ $1900. Be very careful if you use them. Better to go with a reliable zencart certified hosting service that will let you use any registrar with just having them set their nameservers to point to the hosting service. Don't end up losing your site names as I have.
