PHP 5.3 Disaster

I have 2 sites running 1.3.8a and 1.3.9h. My site was upgraded last night to php 5.3. I installed the patch that is supposed to make 1.3.8x work on PHP 5.3. However both sites are fully down. Blank page with huge error logs. Below are the 2 log files.

The site was working fine immediately after the upgrade. But about 5 hours later began having trouble then went completely offline. I now get blank pages or the browser says it can't reach the web site. I can't log in to either admin.

I have a site that is 1.5.0 and is working fine.

Upgrading is a very painful option at this point. But I realize it's the full solution to the problem. I just can't have my sites down that long. I was hoping someone could make some sense of the log files. I can't figure out where to start.

pdo_sqlite - I am not sure that ZenCart has support for this perferring just mysql

Can you figure out why sqlite is being called? The server has MySQL 5.0.96-community-log installed. I've tried to analyze the error message, but I can't get a leg up on it. I can't see what module is calling the function, nor what function is being called. I've searched in the Developer's Tool Kit for the names of the modules, but they don't exist in any of my php files. Do you have any idea what could be triggering pdo_sqlite?

Ok, I'm getting a leg up on this one. It looks like my host messed up the upgrade. The errors are from calls from php.ini. The modules it's calling are complaining that they were compiled with an earler api version than php - so won't load. I've gotten rid of the errors by commenting these modules out of the php.ini file. The problem is that I need them. So, I'm waiting on my hosting tech support... again... to get them to correct their bogus upgrade. Will post again when it's fully resolved.

Note, it appears the patch for using php 5.3 with 1.3.8a is actually working fine. 1.3.9h is working also now.

My error was trying to fine the problem in the php files. It was actually in the php.ini file.

Ok. The bottom line was my php.ini files. I had one in my public_html folder. But there was also one in my home directory. These were pointing to older, incompatible libs. This was the cause of the break. When I renamed the php.ini files and used the system file, everything was OK.

Spend 2 days upgrading from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9h, mostly due to simple seo url mod. It was hard to get it going. But all is good now.

You really should consider upgrading to 1.5.1, let alone 1.3.9h. It's far more secure than any 1.3.x install.

Upgrading a 1.3.9h site to 1.5.1 is about 10 hours of work and really not difficult if you approach it in a methodical way. (Although i would say that as i've done 100 + this year lol)

Always make sure you have a dependable backup of your store and db before you start.
If you follow the correct process, your live site will only be down for around 30-60 mins while you merge the database at go live.
