Broken site, PHP Fatal error I can not figure out

v1.5.0

Hello,

I have a problem with my site today. I made a change to a font in my /includes/templates/premium9a/css/stylesheet.css. When I checked my site it only displayed a white page. I rolled back my change and replaced the stylesheet.css with the original unchanged .css file. I went back to my site, and still just a white page. I called my hosting provider and tried to work through the issue. They did a system restore on my site back to yesterday and that did not solve the problem. They were then able to look at hosting side PHP errors and found the following:
PHP Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '../includes/functions/compatibility.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in ../zcadmin/includes/init_includes/init_file_db_names.php on line 37

So in an attempt to correct the error, I replaced this file with a backed up version of the file, and still not working. I looked at the file zcadmin/includes/init_includes/init_file_db_names.php, it exists. I thought perhaps I would replace this file with a backed up version as well. Still not working.

I have not made any other changes today to the site, and really the one change I made was completely rolled back. Am I missing something here? My site back up is about 25 days old, but I have not made any significant changes to the core structure of the site since then. I am able to access the admin portion of my site, and I can log into ftp with filezilla. I am really at a loss here on how to solve this problem. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Broken site, PHP Fatal error I can not figure out

silverado103:

PHP Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '../includes/functions/compatibility.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in ../zcadmin/includes/init_includes/init_file_db_names.php on line 37
The error is telling the file that's missing: Failed opening required '../includes/functions/compatibility.php'
But you misread it and chose to change the other file mentioned.

So ... put back the (non-admin) /includes/functions/compatibility.php file on your server.

I didn't remove that file, I replaced both of them actually. I tried the compatibility.php first. I wanted to make the most minimal changes to the file that I could, so I started with the most obvious error first.

Re: Broken site, PHP Fatal error I can not figure out

Delving deeper into this today, I found that in the cache folder (in the Public www) had a bunch of myDEBUG-1382474096-434012.log files. I checked these out and found that somewhere along the way that includes/languages/english/header.php got deleted.
I am quite confused though as I didn't even go into that folder today. The only file that I changed was the /includes/templates/premium9a/css/stylesheet.css. I am the only admin for this site, so no one else could have deleted it accidentally. It does not follow logic that changing a .css file could make any other physical changes to the environment. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

It's fairly simple ... Either you deleted it (knowingly or unknowningly) or someone else has access to your webserver and has done it for you.

In both cases, only you can resolve the problem.
