Featured Products below product listing not working properly

I have 7 featured products added and the maximum number to display set to 6. The homepage works correctly but featured products below the product listing only shows 5, and always the same 5. I have searched but cannot find that anyone else is having this problem. I've never had this problem before so any help would be appreciated.

The featured or other center box modules that show below the product listing only show the products that are featured, etc. for that category/sub-category.
