Log in by store name?

Is their any way for a customer to log in by their Company name?

The reason for asking is we have a chain store that orders from us and the manager of the chain has only one email address but needs to place orders for the different shops.

Cafe place - Windsor

All use [email protected]
(yes, a made up company name and email)

Not without custom coding, no. Zencart uses the email address as the unique customer identifier. It would be a lot easier for the chain to assign an ordering email address to each location.

Could the customer create 4 addresses and then choose the billing/delivery address based on the shop for which the order is being placed?

Lat9: no, after the order is placed, we use the MYOB export tool. It exports the company name to our accounting system, that in turns uses the company name to get the billing and shipping information.

Stevesh: ya, that was what I'm thinking of, just a couple of the chains are big box and probably won't comply with us small mom & pop shop but no harm in asking them.

Well, I went out into the shop and welded for 2 hrs and then it hit me. Stupid steel beam. Then I had a thought.
Change the log in db query.

Changed "customers_email_address" to "customers_lastname"

It works. Now my customers can log in using their company name.
(we create the customers accounts with their company name in the last name field)

I guess I could go in and clean up the rest of the value labels from email to last name but then I gotta remember those changes for future upgrades to the core.
