Referral for Download sales? Version 1.3.9

Hello. I am currently selling digital downloads and want to be able to assign referral codes to banners to be able to pay referrers who direct traffic that buys a download.
not to pay for traffic but to be able to pay a percentage of each sale to a referrer.
Is this anywhere near possible?

if so what do i have to do?

The last time I set it up I gave the referrers a %, not clicks but conversions.

No, I can't provide a link. It's a paid module. Posting that link doesn't comply with the "Forum Do's and Don'ts"

I understand about the rules for posting links for paid 3rd party companies. Is it possible to ask the name of the product so i can google it?
I ran across a website but didn't find a product that matched what i was looking for.
If this is also taboo please disregard as I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
