Blank v151 admin after moving to root

Hi,

With the old versions I could tell it where the admin folder was but with the new version there is no way I can see that I could do that. I have updated all the instances of '/shop/' >> '/' in both includes but still no success.

I also tried 'fix_cache_key.php'

Any ideas why it is showing a blank page and won't show admin login?

Thanks

Re: Blank v151 admin after moving to root

Deleting '.htaccess' files in /admin and /admin/includes did no difference.

Re: Blank v151 admin after moving to root

Ok One solution was to upload the complete new 'zcadmin' with untouched/edited files then , re name your existing 'admin' to '_admin' then change the newly uploaded admin folder name to 'YOUR_OWN_ADMIN' on the server (after receiving onscreen ALERT) worked. Which indicates some sort of permission problem but to my surprise no one can tell me.

It works now..

It would be nice to know what made it worked

Not surewhat caused the admin not to work. Would have suggested checking error logs based on description. Newer ZC was designed to take the declaration of the admin folder location out of the equation, it loads/identifies it's location based off of the location of the admin's configure file. So now you can move your admin wherever you want and it will still work. You can bury it in a path if you want.

It does seem like more information would have been needed to help diagnose the problem. History of gettingg to 1.5.1, what changed to provide prob? Just moving the site to the root? Did you have any .htaccess in the root that required the admin to be in a particular location, seeing how "the old way" was to tell ZC where the admin folder was, is/was ther coding in the admin or store side that had a hard link to the old address? (Which would be broken once moved). So much to find out about in order to help diagnose. Partially/possibly why no responses. Further that it appears the problem has been fixed. Hopefully you have reintegrated any plugin modifications to the admin side of your site.

Good Day Mate

Did you take a look-see into your logs / cache folder and checked for error messages? It would have given you a clue. If they still exist, it may be worth checking them just for interest sake.

My guess, from past experience, is that you had a corrupted file, could have been just a missing closing } bracket or similar. When you re-uploaded the admin files that corrupted file would have been replaced by a healthy file and it fixed your problem.

Unlikely that the permissions were the culprit.

Cheers from up the road

Frank

Re: Blank v151 admin after moving to root

Thnaks guys,

Yes it is working now but 'unknowingly fixed' by re uploading install files. I am not sure what original zencart htaccess files supposed to include as code so there was no way I could check as my htaccess files 'seemed fine' and had nothing to compare with. In any case I thank you for your kind support.

Cheers
