orders show as "Pending" or "Processing".

paypal standard is installed and working.
shipping options are either Flat or freeshipper
I made a test product under "Hats" for 1 cent and went all the way through the checkout process to my paypal account and paid. I gave the test product a freeshipper setting.

I received zencart's confirmation email of my order and email confirmation from Paypal after ONE HALF HOUR! Why such a delay?

and under Admin -> Customers -> Orders, the orders are all "Pending" or "Processing". any ideas what is happening? Why aren't the orders getting logged in properly to completion? See snapshot of this order page, attached.

1. Email confirmation delay because your hosting.
2. You can set up an order status with the paypal at admin - modules - payment - paypal.
