v1.6 Admin images not displaying (yes it might be my fault..)

DivaVocals:

The way Bluehost let's you configure sub-domains is by creating the sub-domain and pointing it to a specific folder in your hosting (usually a sub folder of the root)

  • Zen Cart v1.5.1 store folder is called "zentestcart" and the URL is "http://zentestcart(dot)overthehillweb(dot)com"
  • Zen Cart v1.6 store folder is called "zentestcart16x" and the URL is "http://zentestcart16x(dot)overthehillweb(dot)com/"

I can't figure out how the root .htaccess would hose this site, but not others..

Odd thing is that it seems anywhere there is src="... The relative path is basically ignored until prefixed with a forward slash. I looked through likely file areas, html_output, main_image, etc. There is some differences in how images are handled (be interesting to see the affect on image helpers.) But, yes it appears almost any image regardless of storage location is affected. Files in the templates directory, files in a subdirectory off of images, etc. The base path appears to be assigned head of the page, and yet relative src links from there are being ignored...

Re: v1.6 Admin images not displaying (yes it might be my fault..)

DOH!!!

Fixed by adding this line to my root .htaccess file:

  RewriteEngine On

This my fault for not noticing this.. My host apparently doesn't include this directive by default anymore in the root .htaccess file when you create a subdomain.. Thanks to lat9 for the hint.. My v1.5.1 .htaccess has some custom directives for testing Adaptive Images, and I stupidly left this line out when I attempted to replace the .htaccess on my v1.6.x test store with the one from from my v1.5.1 store..

Carry on..

does walk of shame out of the thread :sadwalk:

Right.. but I'm using Beyond Compare (an EXCELLENT file comparison program).. So I saw the line.. didn't realize it was part of the DEFAULT .htaccess file in my v1.5.1 test store.. As I said I do have other customizations in the file for testing Adaptive Images.. Assumed that the target line was part of that (setup the Adaptive Images stuff up long ago do I forgot the exact setup..)

Anyway.. all is right now.. off to have a play with v1.6..
