USPS Module just wont work

I have just installed via QUICK INSTALL script installer from my hosting company Zencart v151. Up to now, I had 1.3.9f running and had abandoned it for about 3 years due personal reasons.

Now that I am getting back into things, I figured that I would start from scratch and install the latest and greatest zencart and try to get it up and running.

I didn't do much of anything special, I only added two items for sale and have the paypal express checkout running. I have only ONE shipping module which I downloaded from this forum and extracted it to my zc folder.

It shows up inside the Admin>Modules>shipping.

I installed it, I added my old info from the 139f site. I called USPS and confirmed that it was in production mode.

Now while I am doing a test run, if I click on "Estimate shipping" a separate window will appear. The first time I do it, I will be able to select the state and zip code - but after entering the info and submitting it, the window will go blank. The only thing that will remain is the "Close Window" clickable link on top. It wont even show you a quote on shipping.

If I try to just checkout, the next page will give me a HTTP 500 internal server error. The page it is trying to show, but doesn't show anything is "checkout_shipping".

I have been at this for hours. Any help would be a life saver!

I have tried to remove the module. I also ftp'ed over another copy of it, extracted it, and installed. Still same results.

Lastly, if I disable it and enable "store pickup" in the shipping modules menu, at least I could complete the transaction, but, obviously it lacks the much needed shipping info.

Make sure you have the current USPS July 28, 2013 J5 version:

Go to your Zen Cart Admin and go to Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...

In the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

Then, select Catalog ... click SEARCH ...

What comes up on the lines for:

• @version $Id: usps.php

Line #10 : * @version $Id: usps.php 2013-07-28 ajeh $ Version J 2013-07-28
and
Line #12 : * @version $Id: usps.php 2013-07-30 ajeh Version J5 $

Go to the Modules ... Shipping ... and click on USPS and edit that, then go down to the bottom and set the Debug to Logs ...

Make sure that the directory /logs is writable and test a quote in the Checkout ...

Now can you Zip the file from the server in the directory /logs that is created and post that as an attachment?

First you need to fix the errors you are getting on the debug errors on your site ...
