when i click install nothing shows up

heres 2 images. if you look to the right after i click paypal payments express, an install button shows, i click the install then update or cancel is available. i don't know whats up.

In includes/modules/payment/ check that your files are not corrupted. Compare that folder to the corresponding folder in a stock ZC 1.5.1 file set. Correct errors (if any) and re-upload to your server. Then try to install again.

i redownloaded zen cart from the server and overwritten the those files. i tried going back to the express check out and face the same issue..

should i install an earlier version of zen cart?

No, an earlier version of ZC does not need to be installed. Are there extra files in that same directory (includes/modules/payments) as compared to a stock ZC 1.5.1 file set? Are there files in the override directory includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/payments that are different than the other directory above? (There may be a valid reason that differences exist, so blindly overwriting is not always a good idea.)

i'm a little jaded here. i installed v1.39 on another domain and checked the paypal express checkout and it works right off the bat. what gives??

i checked the files here and they are the same as stock file set.

thank you for taking time out to assist a newbie. it is a fresh install. in the modules directory there is classic, debug_blocks, order_total, pages, payment, shipping, sideboxes and a list of php files

Well, if a fresh install, then would suggest uploading all of the files again. (Or downloading all of them, comparing to a fresh install and uploading those that have differences.) Sometimes in an upload, one or more files do not get received/saved as they should be and this results in things not working. It could also be a database error, but off the top of my head, I don't know what values would need to be removed from the database to force a clean slate.

Earlier you said you had an update button, what happened when you clicked on it?

Sorry, apples and oranges... I recalled the admin directory, but so far the discussion has been centered around the store directory. The admin directory in 1.5.1 does not yet have an override, so I would not expect to see your template name there. Sorry. The list of directories from your store/catalog side looks correct. Because you have stated that this is a fresh install and I see no other template directories, at this time I am not investigating down the override path.

nothing happened when i clicked update. the first 2 times i extracted the files on my pc then ftp'd them to the server which caused some files to be missing. on my third fresh install of 1.51. ( i uploaded the zip file to the server and used cpanel to extract the files.)

when i installed 1.39, i did the same thing, uploaded the zip to server then extracted it there. no issues with the cart so far.

has anybody else encountered this issue with their v1.51 cart also? i tried google, zen-cart forum search, reading through documentation help but couldn't find a solution to this particular issue.

In all three cases (if not mistaken two were zipfile uploaded and decompressed on site, one was unzip local and ftp to site) was the same database referenced? I haven't looked through the code to see the execution path after clicking the install button, but there's a number of things that look wrong on the page that displays after clicking install (update page), first is that there is no arrow next to the expected module, then there is nothing below the update option. Have you tried reviewing:

i've given up trying to resolve this issue with this version. i've deleted the database and reinstalled each time to ensure there is a fresh database. my options are either install the prior version of zen or work with magento which i'm in the process of editing on another domain.
