PayPal order not working anymore

Our site has been working for 2 years but since last week, orders made through PayPal doesn't work anymore. No one touched the website for a while, last good order was made last week. PayPal account is still working fine, no changes has been made to it. Payment is sent to our PayPal account but no order is being created. We're using ZC 1.5 and PayPal IPN module.

After doing an order, we are redirected to paypal, we pay but once we get back to our web store, there's is no order number, we do not receive a confirmation email and in the ZC dashboard, no new order is being created.

We put the PayPal module log at on and this is what we see:

You mean PayPal Express Checkout?

I saw a few threads about this as well. Would you mind explaining why it is more reliable?

Trying to use PayPal Express Checkout but I get an error message:

I have the command curl on this server, doesn't look like it's working.

I don't see any mention of curl in phpinfo(); so it's not installed unfortunately.

Using PayPal Express Checkout might just solve our problem. However it still doesn't explain why our Zen Cart installation stopped working all of a sudden.

It may. Your host may have changed something in its server configuration (like disabling CURL?) that interferes with Paypal's communication with your server.

You can test CURL by entering yoursite.com/extras/curltester.php in the browser address bar. If CURL isn't enabled, you'll need to contact your host.

cURL is now installed and working, however after making an order, I am redirected to PayPal and as soon as I log in, I'm redirected back to our website with this error: MODULES_PAYMENT_PAYPALWPP_TEXT_BLANK_ADDRESS

Check to make sure includes/languages/english/modules/payment/paypalwpp.php exists in your Zencart files.

We're using french, but it do exist in both locations:

It is in the english folder but it's not in the french folder. Seems like the french translation stopped at ZC version 1.3.9 and was never updated:

So I put the english translation in the french folder (if it's working I can always translate it after) but after checking out, instead of having the error of MODULES_PAYMENT_PAYPALWPP_TEXT_BLANK_ADDRESS, it is now complaining about the whole english translation:

Needless to say that I do have an account in the store. So I'm back to square one, it's not working. The logs folder is 777, the PayPal Checkout Express module has log enabled, yet no log file is created.

I feel like ZC is just dying, french translation is outdated, error message is not helping, no log file is created and whenever I modify the Localization / Languages everything is messed up after and I have to re-import the database everytime.

Our first ZC installation was on 2011-12-21 using this install.txt version:

Is it possible that just upgrading ZC after all this time was too much for ZC and a complete re-install would have been better? I'm still wondering why it stopped working all of a sudden. It was fine last week.

Weird, one of my test order went through, no idea what I did, can't reproduce it, still broken.

Bingo! Looks like this is it, when it's not a virtual product, it's working. Guess I have no choice but to update to 1.5.1 now which I tried before and it broke a lot even tho we're not using anything but a theme...

Looks like everything's working fine, all payment, all orders and everything else on the website! I'm just not going to modify anything, this installation is so fragile!
