Can I run my store in an addon domain?

Good morning.
I would like me to install Zen Cart on my web hosting account.
I suggest to install the script on addon domain name.
Is this a problem (conflict or other misconfigurations)?

Will this allow me to run two websites on one server and one SSL cert????  What are the pros and cons of doing  this?

Can't "share" the SSL cert for one domain with another domain..

Not without a 'wildcard' certificate, anyway, and the price of one of those would probably exceeed the cost of a second hosting account.

Not as a subdomain (or additional domain), but if you can live with having https://www.example.com/store1 be one store and https://www.example.com/store2 be another (with the SSL cert being applied to https://www.example.com) ...
