Store Moved from Folder to Root - Google Won't Update Indexes Even After a Week

I just moved my site from a folder to the root a week ago. After it was done successfully, I updated my Google Sitemap the same day. I made sure the Sitemap does not have any errors and also Google is not spitting out any crawling errors. It's been 8 days and Google has STILL NOT UPDATED my new links. re-submitted several times, still no luck. The main index page is updated on certain results, but all others still point to old links.

My site map is .txt format. Should I try XML format may be?

What else can I try?

Thanks in advance

Goggle works at its own pace not yours...

You could also implement 301 redirects

Not certain it actually matters but did you set an interval in said sitemap? Also, how did you go about generating it?

If all links to folder locations should go to the same locations under root (you did a clean move without making other changes), a 301 redirect will get immediate results. This case is very simple. An example that I put in an otherwise empty index.php in my old subfolder is given here (post 22):

Did you try some back links one that new URL?

Back links can force Google indexed your URL or Pages
