Attribute pricing...

Hi,
I have a particular section where I would like the items to be priced by the attributes. I have followed the instructions on other posts however they products do not appear in my site unless I actually put a price in and then it adds that price and the attribute price together.
I have gone to the attributes and removed the + prefix next to where I input the attribute price and left it blank and still nothing appears.
I have also checked I set in the product info that it needs to have the 'Product Priced by Attributes: Yes No' to Yes. I have also tried adjusting the 2nd colour box to the right on the attributes to see if that would work and nothing.

Is there something else I need to change?

Thank you
Amy

Re: Attribute pricing...

If the product is Priced By Attributes, the product price entered should be 0.00.

Re: Attribute pricing...

Hi Amy,

Your attributes flags should be something like this:
Used for display purposes only no
attribute is free when product is free yes
default attribute to be marked selected** yes**
apply discounts used by product special/sale yes
include in base price when priced by attributes no
attribute required for text no

The + prefix should be left intact.

Hope that helps,

Re: Attribute pricing...

When you look at the list view of the product pages (before you click to go in and edit them). It is displaying the prices correctly, like this...

Charms £64.00 / 0 0 Status - Enabled 1 Edit Delete Move Copy toAttribute FeaturesProducts etc

They just are not showing up on the site.

Can you post a link to the product you're referring to?

Re: Attribute pricing...

Hi,
For these two suggestions you just wrote...
Your attributes flags should be something like this AND The + prefix should be left intact
Do I do that for each attribute in the product or just the first top one?

I have tried it and it still does not appear in the product page.

the only way I have managed to get the product to appear is when I tested putting an actual price into where you would put a price when you create the product. I have then deleted that and made sure that it says 0.00

Here is the link to the page it is to appear on

Re: Attribute pricing...

Thanks for the link :)

First step - you add a product (custom printed charms) with all the details added in the new product area.
Second step - Then you must go into your attribute controller and add more information.

For each attribute:
Option name has to be selected (attribute One)
and given an option value (Laser cut)
Make certain all the flags are selected appropriately and insert.
Repeat for all other attributes.

Re: Attribute pricing...

Hi,
I have changed everything to what you have said and here is a screen shot. I have added back in the + next to the atribute prices as you mentioned.
Still nothing, did I miss something?Attachment 13844

Re: Attribute pricing...

Slight misnomer here ...

The Default YES cannot be all of the Option Values in an Option Name Group ... one 1 can be the Default ...

Another thing to consider is, the setting for:
Include in base price when priced by attributes

When a Product is marked Priced by Attribute YES, the display price is a combination of the lowest value in each Option Name group of Option Values ...

Also, generally, it is not necessary to change the default:
Include in base price when priced by attributes YES

to be the:
Include in base price when priced by attributes NO

unless a price is truly interfering with the calculated display price ... which is most often never ...

Do you have the actual products_id of this Product?

Re: Attribute pricing...

At first look, I see no ID# for the product you are adding attributes to but the product has a name -1 inch. That's a problem.
Can you add attributes to another existing product?

The third button (orangish), is the default selection button, and should only be selected for one attribute... the one most purchased, or the first in the list are my suggestions.

Re: Attribute pricing...

Sorry, It does have a number which I removed. Sorry about that, I have learnt the hard way before when posting things from my site such as code so was not sure if it was needed or not so just thought it safe to remove things from the image I posted that might not be needed. If you do need it it is 1875.

Re: Attribute pricing...

I did have the orange button top one as the only one selected but from what you posted it sounded like you needed me to put all the colour boxes as No, Yes, Yes, Yes, No, No. I have changed it back and still nothing

Re: Attribute pricing...

Thanks for sharing your information with me...

It looks like your cart has hidden wholesale installed and now your attributes are stuck in the wrong loop. That's why they aren't functioning predictably.

The solution:
You can add a dollar amount to the products price and keep them Product Priced by Attributes - yes

or alternatively,
You could install another Wholesale Module. I found this one very useful http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1771

Glad I could help :)

Re: Attribute pricing...

Hi,
The twitch wholesale sounds like a good idea but does it mean that I need to then remove my wholesale and hidden wholesale modules after as I am not sure that is something I would trust my self to do.

Also, I am stuck straight away. On the twitch wholesale mod it says...
Add the switch input to the customer data
admin/customers.php
line 101
$customers_wholesale = zen_db_prepare_input($_POST['customers_wholesale']);

line 258
When I have searched for line 101 it says there are only lines up to 67 or something like that. I am not sure if that is because all the code is crammed together on ther txt document, unlike others I have seen where they are spaced appart and easy to read

Thanks
Amy
