pop up quantity when adding to cart

is there a way to make a pop up screen (maybe in a light box kinda of thing) that has the quantity???

i have people calling me often about how they can add more than one of the same item to cart even though the box is there!

Almost any time someone asks, is it possible... The answer is yes, there are those exceptions where someone wants to prove that the answer is no, but regardless. Probably have to use some form of java programming/java script, to display like that. There is a somewhat obscure plugin checkbox textbox icon product checkout that offers a setting to show the number of an item in the cart adjacent to the button(s) to manipulate the quantity in the cart. Not sure though still if "shouting" the quantity in the cart if that would fix the customer's inquiry(ies) as described here.
