uninstalling a plugin - cross sell 1.3.8

been trying to speed up and clean up my site of old things and found old cross sell here https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2 still on my site since the 1.3.8 days....

my site gone from 1.3.7 all the ways to 1.5.9 so have old plugins still kicking about. but how can i remove this old plugin??

also is there a way to clean out alot of old rubbish??

Start a new site from scratch, add what you want, import the database. It'll be shiny and new :)

If that is not an option, you should compare your site to the module packages you want to remove, and delete the appropriate files, or remove the added cod from them. Although is there are many or complex modules it often is much easier to start over with a fresh install, like twitchtoo said

file removals not an issue as most modifed files from old mod are just in template files anyway, its the stuff still on the DB i need to remove. the old mods dont seem to have uninstall sql files

is it as simple as changing the insert to drop in the sql files?? (i not sql literate)

It is easier to use phpmyadmin. There you can select the lines in the tables and press delete
