Login to one of multiple permission levels
We serve ZenCart and phpBB from our site. For both we desire to serve say three levels of permissions: Guest [not logged in], General Public [non-member of our society], Member. Each level carries with it selected access [and/or price variation] in browsing and purchasing from the store. At first blush our desire looks to be non-standard. Right?
In searching the wiki on the topic "phpBB" because the concepts carry over to the Forum, I get 13 hits, but looking at the detail from the 13 items only some make any mention of phpBB in the text. Likely not true, but the impression I get is that phpBB linkage is being removed from ZenCart as ZC development progresses. Is synced registration information being deprecated?
In looking at registration for ZC, I find no pre-built info that might carry organizational membership switch or level. Actually that finding is OK because the membership database is the proper source of current status. I have no expectation that ZC would Xlink to a foreign database for membership information, I remain committed to the idea that we will need to create any such linkage as a site enhancement. The next issue is how to process membership at the item level. The concept of multiple instances [member/non] of ZC and phpBB might make some sense?
May I float a search for those who have been sucessful at this kind of issue before us?
THANKS!
