filezilla vs y populate what are they

I've seen people talk about using Filezilla and Easy Populate, but I dont quit understand what they do and whats the difference between them

Filezilla is an FTP client, which is used to transfer files between your computer and your host's server where your live website sits. Look up "FTP client" for more detailed information.

Easy Populate is a program you use to import and export information between your computer (in a spreadsheet) and your Zen Cart database (on the server). I haven't used EP so can't say much more about it.

Filezilla is just an FTP program, used to download and upload files to and from your server. Easy Populate is a Zencart mod which allows you to add and edit products from a .csv file, rather than one at a time through admin.

have downloaded FileZilla but I can't seem to find easy populate to download. Does anybody know where I can download it?

Look in Plugins (top of this page). You should use a version that is good for v1.5.1 of Zen Cart. Apparently there is an even newer version that is being currently worked on which has fewer bugs; search the forum for this (it was mentioned a few days ago).

The most recent author is looking to make this aplugin available through the plugins area soon, but it is functional and seems to be used by many. There is other software that does similar changes, but has a different name.

if you didn't get it form the source, you should at lest make a vist if you need answers... many good tutorials and how-to's!

Look at the client not the server version...

thanks I was confused on what's the difference between the client and the server version.
