Social Bookmarking Plugin

Hello:

I just realized that I posted this in the wrong thread so I thought I had better get it in here:

Could someone tell me where I can find the Social Bookmarking Plugin that is used on the Abbington Mega template. I looked under the "read me" within the template and it says is "Social Bookmarking." I tried looking at the plugins on Picaflor Azul but couldn't find it. I'm sure that it is in the Zen plugins but if it is, it isn't under that name. I would like to install it on another site, (template). Could someone tell me what the "proper" name of this plugin is and where to look for it? :eek:

Thank you,

Silver

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

Thanks for the response but I know it's not the bar. I wish I could explain it better. From my recollection it has small links with f for facebook, t-twitter, and many more to be able to place the product on their respective social media. I wish I could be more specific but I know it's not the bar. Too obtrusive for my taste.

Thanks,

Silver

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

I'm pretty sure it's the bar that's used on the template in question, there are several display options if you haven't already followed the Addthis link I posted? If not then perhaps a screen shot of the tool in situ would help.

Thanks for your response. If this is the same thing then possibly you don't have to display the vertical floating bar. I am including the suggested screen shot of my Abbington Mega website. If you look toward the lower left, you will see the small media images. I would also like to know if more can be added and if this might be available in admin. I just can't find it. Here's the screen shot:

Thanks again for your help,

You're very welcome. Yes (as per your other thread) it's definitely Addthis bar as per my earlier link.

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

I am guessing that where it says:

"Add to your site

Copy and paste the code below into your page between the <body> and </body> tags."

Does this mean this location?: /includes/templates/your_template/common/html_header.php

"The buttons will appear wherever you place them." Does this mean I have to place these one at a time on each product somehow?

Thanks for your help,

Silver

almost, but it needs to go in /includes/templates/your_template/template/tpl_product_info_display.php

place the block of code to suit your taste depending where you want it to display on the product page.

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

Thanks for the info but before I screw things up I'm not sure how to tell where to place the code.

"place the block of code to suit your taste depending where you want it to display on the product page."

I will take a look at that file and see if it makes sense.

Thanks,

Silver

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

I went to the file and I found a block of code that looks like what I want. I am not sure but I thought I would place it here:

<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->

<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style ">

<a class="addthis_button_facebook_like" fb:like:layout="button_count"></a>

<a class="addthis_button_tweet"></a>

<a class="addthis_button_pinterest_pinit"></a>

<a class="addthis_counter addthis_pill_style"></a>

</div>

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=xa-4e1cb9cd525e5a84"></script>

<!-- AddThis Button END -->

Could the control for this be somewhere in the admin and I am overlooking it?

TY,

Silver

Do you mean you already had that piece of code in your file?

Yes. This is the website that I wanted the social buttons (bookmarks) I cannot find anything in the admin section that controls any of this.

Nope, pretty sure there is no admin controls for this mod.

Is the above code from addthis.com? If so I don't know how it got there. Is this just normal code for that file or would you know?

Are you sure that is the right file to add the code? There are no body tags?

Thanks,

yes that's definitely from Addthis .com
I just had a look at the demo of the template you are using http://www.picaflor-azul.com/free-demos/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_9&products_id=26 and sure enough there is the Addthis tool on display. So perhaps you'd at some point, hidden the bar from your site?

Re: Social Bookmarking Plugin

That template is the one that has the plugin or addon. I realize that. May be I didn't explain it very clearly. I want to add this script to another site: https://www.petluxuryboutique.com, which is the Aberdeen Neutral. The code that I was showing you was from this site, not the Abbington Mega. That is why I was wondering why it was there. I hope I haven't totally confused you.

As I said, there are no head tags in the file that you recommended placement.
