Background color not changing

Trying to change background image after following this link: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?210-how-do-i-change-the-background-colour-on-each-side-of-my-page-from-a-standard-light-blue%28cyan%29-to-white-or-grey

Although color is changing when I change CSS through Firefox toolkit, the same is not changing when I actually make changes through FTP.

Then your stylesheet files are set to read-only or you aren't editing the right file. A link to your site would help.

Just post in the form of mysiteDOTcom or with spaces. The only concern is that a "real" link will be harvested by the Search Engines (SEs) instantaneously.
If you actually are ready to be bombarded, use an actual link.

I have tried to change the same to green, pink. While changes are visible on Firefox application, the same does not reflect when I change the file through CSS. If my file is in Read Only mode, how can I know the same and change to Read/Write? Thanks for the continued support.

It appears that you are currently using the classic template.

In admin -> tools -> template selection:

Do you see YOUR_TEMPLATE in the 'Templates Installed' section?

Yes using the Classic template and the same is visible under Admin/Template Selection.

Generally, when making changes to the stock zen cart, it is suggested to use the overwrite system and make changes to the template files using YOUR_TEMPLATE and leave the classic or template_default unedited.

This may be why you are having issues...
