Digital download site demo?

I've been over the forums and the site and can't find what I'm after. I used to run a Zen-Cart site back in 2008 (when I last posted) and I'm sure it's changed a lot since then.

I'm wondering if there's a demo version somewhere of just a digital downloads site. I've currently got one using a Word Press theme where I license images I make at various sizes and price points and it's not working very well as it also seems that the developer isn't keen on updating the free theme version as they are the paid version which has led me back here. I remember when I was looking at it that the process seemed a bit clunky having to click a few links to take the customer to the download they paid for. Has that process been streamlined?

Also is there a list on the site with the allowed file types for digital downloads? I remember seeing something mentioned in a thread when someone was having issues.

Any help would be appreciated before I do an install. If this is in the wrong forum pretty please move it to the correct one. I haven't been here since 2008 and couldn't find a forum for people with questions before downloading.
