Re: Winchester Responsive

@JustinG - I'm sure Ann has a better answer for you, but I ran into the same issue. I found if I went directly into my database and pasted the html there, it came out fine. The table you want to edit is flexible_footer_menu

Re: Winchester Responsive

earth-friendly:

Hi. I want to thank you for this wonderful template!
I'm in the process of upgrading from zencart 1.5.4 to 1.5.5a.
If I understand correctly, I should do a diff between the template_default directory of 1.5.4 and that of 1.5.5a, see what changes were made, and attempt to make those changes to my winchester_responsive directory. Is that correct? And, just wondering if you had any plan to upgrade the winchester responsive template and upload a new version, or if I should do my own upgrade.
Thanks very much!

If you do a search of the forum you will find a thread about how to upgrade a picaflor azul template to 1.5.5 that outlines the changes that you need to make ;)

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Winchester Responsive

Justin G:

So I am having an issue that I should be able to figure out but can't. I tried changing the links of the social media icons in the footer using the flexible footer menu in the admin side. Now it displays the text from the textbox instead of the icons and their respective links. I have no idea what happened. This is what I see on my site now...Attachment 16476

There is a fix for this posted in the flexible footer menu support thread.

Thanks,

Anne

The additional images show under the main product image by default. See the demo:

Re: Winchester Responsive

I also was getting this error: ```
An unknown response null: :text/html; charset=utf-8: :SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data was received while processing an ajax call. The action you requested could not be completed.

I found this post:

This solution also works properly for the Winchester_black. Thank you for posting this solution!

I would recommend re uploading the includes/templates/winchester_responsive/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file from the template package.

Thanks,

Anne

I don't mind pointing you in the right direction, I do ask that you do at least some of your own footwork. Please either search the thread or read through the thread (yes, you may need to spend more than a few minutes reading) to find the posted fix for the bug in the flexible footer menu plugin.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Winchester Responsive

Is there a fix posted somewhere, I could not locate it searching this thread, for portrait tablets and the home page, where categories, information, and, contact drop downs near the top seem to go to white text (making them invisible except for the down arrows)? Have not touched the install. I saw posts in this thread regarding this, but, no solution I could find at least. Only two plugins, this template and CEON URI mapping. Only seems to happen on a tablet, in portrait mode.

Even re-copied the files over the existing ones for this plugin, and, no change.

Re: Winchester Responsive

Hi Anne.

I have been working with this template for a couple of days now, and have been able to change most of what i wanted to change by looking at what other people have done and what your answers were to some of the same issues i have found. However, there is one minor thing that i cant seem to find a solution to, even after browsing this whole thread. Maybe im overlooking it, or im overcomplicating the solution. Anyway, the problem i have run into is an extra menu.Attachment 16603

Any ideas of how to get rid of that home button there on the right side, as well as the bullet below it?

Thanks.

Great design, by the way!

Re: Winchester Responsive

I have been using Winchester Responsive with great success running in ZC 1.5.5. After a lot of procrastination I am trying to upgrade to 1.5.5a. My first shot at that failed and I've restored a backup and all seems to be well. However, I'm not sure where my error was. Before I make attempt #2, I'm wondering: are there considerations I should be keeping in mind for Winchester Responsive? There are a few files that pertain to includes/templates/responsive_classic.

Those are:
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/stylesheet.css
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/templates/tpl_checkout_payment_address_default.php
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/templates/tpl_checkout_shipping_address_default.php

Should those also be uploaded to templates/winchester_responsive?

Additionally, there are a few which pertain to template_default:
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_account_history_info_default.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_checkout_payment_address_default.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_checkout_shipping_address_default.php

Should those also be uploaded to winchester_responsive?

Thank you.

Re: Winchester Responsive

Why not this to save a lot of time and hard work.

  1. load 1.5.5a (upgrade database if rebuild)
  2. Select the Responsive Classic Template
  3. Adjust Layout Boxes Controller as needed
  4. use Responsive Color Changes for 155 to change the template colors
  5. use Clone a Template to copy your changes to your own new template name.
  6. Import product images.
  7. pick shipping and payment methods.

in just a few hours, you can have a working cart with colors that suit your needs. You can now continue to sell by making any minor tweaks WHILE making money.

Any changes to the template will be made with the new template with Responsive Classic there as a sort of backup.

Not really sure. I should hastily add that whatever I broke is now fixed, but I guess I just wanted to work within my existing structure without switching templates. Kinda like that idea as a backup though, maybe I'll do that too. Thank you.

This is a quick procedure for creating a new template, but I was very limited with the bells and whistles I could put into the Responsive Classic. The Winchester Responsive comes out of the box with a lot more functionality ;) See this thread for updating the template package for compatibility with 1.5.5a:
