Westminster New

Original template, logo left corner, tagline under the logo.
If i use the mobile phone view on my computer, this shows up in the middle. Hole space is filled. Love that.
Computer view I find that the middle is empty and therefor I would like to move the tagline from under the logo, to the middle, to the right side of the logo.

So i have my little search box on the right, logo on the left and would like to have the tagline in the middle.
Is it possible to change that for only the computer view and if so how do I do that?
(i can find my stylesheets, #logo and #tagline, but don't know what part i have to change)

Just noticed that both the Westminster and Winchester temples have a disappearing goto TOP slider when viewed in portrait mode on an iPhone 3GS (I know it's old, but it's the only apple phone I have). In other words, it appears as long as finger-down on the screen and disappears when you lift your finger. Landscape view works correctly...

Yes, you can make your changes in the stylesheet.css file. Be sure to test tablets and phones after you make changes.

Thank you so much for your truly amazing template.

I have supplied a link to my site in the hope that you would be so kind as to take a look at it for me and hopefully assist me in making a few changes that I would really like to put into place to make it perfect for my needs.

I really just want to make a few changes to the landing page.

1. Right in the top where it says "log in" to the left of it I would like to add a home button that I can route to my main info page to make the site more seamless if you know what I mean. The main info page is https://www.marshallmusic.co.za which is what I would like this icon to link to.

2. In the same location to the right of "Wish List I would like to add a "Contact us" link

3. Below the search box, keeping in line with proportion I would like the manufacturers dropdown and then directly below that a space where I can insert an image stating that we ship for free on all orders over R1000.00

4. Where the Hometop banner is I would like to display the "category list" for ease of access for clients and extend the width of the slider banner a little for more advertising real estate.

Thank you so very much I really appreciate all your assistance and everything you indirectly teach the whole Zen Cart community. You really should get a salary for this, I am truly learning so much. This whole coding thing is so much harder than I thought :-) .

Is there a way to change the zen_categories_ul_generator file so that it displays the sub categories on the main menu instead of the categories link.

I am running Zencart 1.5.4 and have the latest Westminster New template installed. I searched the thread and found someone else asking the same question but had no reply.

If you take a look at the plugins section at the other menus, there is at lease one that has an alternate ul generator file which allows for top level categories to display as the main links. I do not remember the name, but I think it might be css flyout menu?

I am sorry, but I can not help you without a link to your site. I am others have told you this more than a few times.

My best advice (and I have also told you this before) is to use chrome and the web developer tools if you want to make changes to the css.

Sorry if this is repetitive Anne.. but I felt compelled to quote what I too have posted and suggested to the OP.. I am bolding the things that speaks to what you have asked of the OP in more than one response, not to yell at the OP, but to re-emphasize the point you have patiently (and repeatedly) tried to make..

It would help if you could put up a TEST version of your site on a LIVE server so we can SEE what YOU see.. Seriously.. **if you do not see a recurring theme in all the responses you receive it's this: Put a link up to your site so we can see it.. Without that folks are guessing and they cannot help you.. **Some folks (myself included) will not entertain guesses, hence you will not receive the quality/quantity of responses to help you help yourself..

Create a development site.. post a link.. THEN folks can REALLY help you (versus just guessing away at your issues..)

right.. having a live working store is NO REASON why you CAN'T create a LIVE dev/test store in a SEPARATE area.. Setup a sub-domain, and put your site there so when you ask questions people can SEE what you are asking about and offer real answers instead of trying to GUESS what you are describing..
You don't know which file to touch.. for certain things, yes the community can help without seeing the site.. But once you start modifying things and installing other plugins, then it gets MUCH harder to help you..

ANYONE with more experience cannot help you unless we SEE what you are trying to describe.. Honestly I can't put this much plainer.. Why do you think Anne (the AUTHOR of this template.. remember her??) keeps REPEATEDLY asking you to post a link so she can take a look?? It's so she can give you a much more INFORMED answer versus GUESSING (which answering BLINDLY means)

Beautiful template. Thank you!
I needed to upgrade, and also needed a fresh new look, so I've chosen this beautiful template.
But I stumbled from the start.
After a fresh install of zen-cart 1.5.4. and Westminster-new v1.3. next step was to change the logo. I did as instructed in the read me file but then I encountered a problem: My logo is not the same size as the original logo so when I resize the browser window, the menu icon (the one with three horizontal lines) shows underneath the black line on top of the site
I have tried resizing my logo, but I couldn't resize it lower than 215x108, I would prefer it a little larger though (140px height). I have tried editing the stylesheet.css and the responsive_default.css but didn't get the desired location.
Please help me fix it.

Anne would you have a moment to take a look at my site when a product info page is displayed, as the page is not looking as it should with the tabs for "Description, Details, Reviews and Custom".

I really do not see why the tab split of information is not working and instead my page shows all the information down the page.

Thus far I have only added this one product for testing my site.

These symptoms indicate a jscript conflict. The jquery library is probably being called twice on the page. I would look to any plugins you have installed that are using the jquery library. Make sure that you only call the main library once ;)

Okay thank you Anne. I have a thought that it is either the Restricted Download plugin which is for restricting product purchase by ip for certain countries (as my store is a digital store) or it is the Rewards points suite.

I noticed that in the Restrict Digital Downloads plugin it states that RDD uses a jQuery script to disable any download-related product options; the minimum version required is v1.7.0. If no other version of jQuery is detected, the file /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_jquery_cdn.js will load jQuery v1.11.1.

I did remove this jscript file however no change to the problem on my product display page.

I appreciate this is not a problem related to your template and this is going to be another party plugin, I would be really happy for any suggestions as I have no idea what I need to look at or where you might look to see if the jquery library is being called more than once, any tips please as this is above me somewhat?

I have narrowed down the troublesome plugin to be "Restrict Digital Downloads" as it places four overrides within the YOUR TEMPLATE area being document_general_info, document_product_info, document_info, and document_music_info.

As soon as I removed these four folders and the content file they each have called "restrict_digital_downloads.php" the problem was fixed with the layout of the product display information on my website.

I just wanted to share here for future or anyone considering the plugin as you will need to find a work around for this plugin if you do not want it to cause a break in the template product display information page.
