Westminster New

Hello everyone. I am new to Zen Cart, this is my first post here. I have searched my issue in this thread and not found any related issues. I installed Zen Cart through HostGator "One Click Installs". The basic template worked. I installed the Westminster New template according to the instructions in file folder westminster_new/readme/westminster_new_readme.html and now the front end is a blank screen.

I installed Zen Cart in a sub directory

Any advice in how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated.

According to the Chrome and IE browsers there is a HTTP ERROR 500. This error does not show in Firefox.

I have decided to delete the install. Quite frankly, without a way to easily install/uninstall templates I do not see how I can use Zen Cart. All the best to those who want to use Zen Cart. I hope your experience is better than mine.

Install was not fun for me either. Don't use a packaged install offered other than from ZC. The problem I had was there is on one definitive place where the install instructions live. Making backups of the entire directory is advised.

After some years, I'm very happy with it. Price is right being the foremost.

Some details aren't straight, but for the price, I'm over it. My Facebook link on my front page still goes to picaflor-azul, but oh well.

When adding Social Media Icons info in the flexible footer menu, it goes bust. All I change are the links, as a matter of fact, I only changed the last part of the Facebook link to my facebook name and again it breaks and all I get is the html code. What am I doing wrong.

Found it! Change directly in database does the trick.

I have twice done a fresh install of 1.5.5e which functions OK. When I install this template as instructed, the site will not function with any template. I initially got a 500 error, but now get a message

"The https://www.balloonforkids.com.au page isn’t working

https://www.balloonforkids.com.au is currently unable to handle this request."

Is there some simple error which would consistently cause this? Given that the contemporary green template does not function, there would seem to be, but I cannot find it. Files are correctly uploaded, and admin works OK.

How do I resize the image I want to put in the LEFT Slide out bar? I want it larger than the one that's there.

Hi all could really use some help.
Is there anyway to get the drop down menu to stay open on hover. I have a lot of categories and you can't see them all on the drop down menu. I know it would be some kind of css but just don't know where or what lol I have tried a couple things none of them have worked. Like on the hovers have tried {display: block;}, and {display: block; z-index:1; } and display: block; position:relative} maybe I am just not putting them on the right hover css I don't know but I have tried and failed lol.

I did have another question anybody use the pure css mega menu with westminster new. How did it work on mobile. Thinking about trying it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I want to ask how can i have differnt images, depending on language, at banner section in a multilanguage enviroment? In english i have a full banner like the demo but in greek i have nothing.
Where can i find the main menu to add some option-pages?

I still love the look and layout of this template. However ... I cannot find a way of displaying extra product images, only one image per product. Is there a way to integrate this?

I don't understand how to delete custom left slide out, I understand that file is under includes/templates/winchester_responsive/common/tpl_main_page.php but what lines I have to uncomment?

Westminster New is my favourite template, however got some problem after ZC upgrade to 1.5.5e...

When trying to reach index.php?main_page=account, everytime i get an error:
"500 Internal Error
The server encountered an internal error and could not complete your request."

When I change to different template, this error doesn't occur.

Does anyone know, which exactly template file is related to view logged customer's account details/changes?

@guitarrizer, two things:

1. That "Server 500" error you received should have resulted in a myDEBUG-*.log file being generated in your store's /logs directory; that file will identify the source and details of the issue.
2. When viewing a customer's account page, there are a couple of unique, primary files: /includes/modules/pages/account/header_php.php and /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_account_default.php. There are also page-specific language files.

Thank you for your help! Log file from your 1st point showed me the clue. The problem was inside translation file - there was an apostrophe missing.

By the way, tpl_account_default.php doesn't exist in Westminster New template. Zen Cart works good without it, in fact.

There is "GENERAL INFO" section in top links. I would like to change its name to something else or to delete it. Trying to make it in translation file in includes\languages\my_language\extra_definitions\westminster_new\westminster_new_defines.php doesn't work.

I tried already to put there:

Any suggerstions? :)
